I have a 2003 Caravan w/3.3 litre v/6. there is a rattling sound coming from the engine at idle speed. appears to be top of engine more towards passenger side. doesn't seem to matter if engine is warmed up or not. I don't think its lifter noise but more an inconsistent rattling. car has 107,000 miles. Any help is appreciate

We have had this same type of sound coming from the upper end of the motor. On almost all the problem were the connecting rods. I would recommend to remove the pan and inspect the rod bearings one at a time.
