2001 Dodge grand caravan sport that stalls when backing up or starting off from a stop light if I dont mash the gas hard enough and it also downshifts into the last gear before stopping kinda hard on occasions

What is wrong with it? If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.

I would have the TCM scan for any stored codes. You could have a torque converter problem. But that is only a guess.
