Default 2004 Grand Caravan cylinder 5 missfire

I have a 2004 grand caravan with 3.8l v6 105000 miles. I took it to the shop for a check engine light and missfire. They replaced the coil pack and reprogramed the computer. When i went to pick up the miss was still there. Sure enough after 3 starts the check engine light came back on. Now they are trying to tell me that the bad coil pack made the injector go bad. To me this dosent sound possible. Looking for opinions.

Is this shop a dealership? Because to program the computer, they need access to dealer connect or witech web site. Here is what I would have done. compression test, inspect the injector wire harness, because that has been a problem and replace if needed. I would say they didn't fix the problem, but were glad to take your money. I would find another shop, that won't take you for a ride.

The service contract I have says I have to take it to the selling dealer if with in 60 miles. The dealer ship I bought it from is a Chevy dealer at this location but has a dodge dealer ship 40 miles away. When I first bought the van I would drop it off here in town and they would take it to the dodge dealer ship for anything they could not handle. This time they diagnosed and fixed the coil pack and then they took it to the locak dodge dealership and had the computer reflashed. I paid the $263 for the repair. Got in the van and could feel a miss, but not check engine light. Drove the van 30 miles and on the third start up the check engine light came on. When i returned to the dealer the service writer was out so I talked to the parts guy. After a half hour of him telling me they spent the whole day looking at it after it was “fixed” because it had a stumble every once in a while but no check engine light they called me and said it was done. So they took it back in and called me the next day saying the bad coil caused the injector to go bad. After a long argument about me not paying anything else for their mistakes he said he had to talk to the manager about it. And that is where it sits now.

If it's really missing, which I assume it is 'cause you can feel it, there's a good chance you're damaging your cat. The miss is dumping unburnt fuel into the exhaust, which can burn in the cat and destroy it, or at least degrade it to the point where the OBD-II system thinks it's bad.
