Van will start and die within a few moments at times, or run and die while driving. No lamps. Oil light will light after engine dies.
I did go for another drive, after about twenty miles the engine did cough and sputter then came back to life as though the ignition had been shut off and then turned back on. I did get a "SES" light while the engine was stumbling and then went out when the engine picked up. My test light monitoring the ASD relay did not go out.

This sounds like the same problems I was having a with an 05 dodge stratus 2.4,
ended up replacing the camshaft position sensor and never had the problems again, sold the car about 2 years ago to a friend and he has never had a problem with it either.
not saying that this is your fix, but a possibility.
