Default EGR valve remove; best method

06 caravan , 3.8--moving egr valve to get alternator out.

Bottom bolt of EGR bolts into engine. Can't put the 10mm socket on straight because it runs slightly into the alternator. Therefore the slight angle created by the bracket could strip the bolt if turned. No way I want this to happen. There are two options. Which is safer and faster to get alt. out?

1. One guy said to use a wobble attached to the socket.

2. Another guy said to pull off the three bolts that secure alternator and then move it forward a few inches, thus allowing access to that EGR bolt.
The EGR then can moved out of the way so alternator can slide toward the drivers side in order for the alternator to be removed.
