Lifter noise while turning a corner
Hello, since I am new here I will introduce myself first. The name is Rick and I live in Hawaii. I have a 2002 Caravan with a 3.3 with 97 K miles.
Here is the issue. The 3.3 is making a lifter type sound while turning a corner or going around a curve. The started a couple of months ago and was very sporadic. Within the last week the sounds has become more common. the knee jerk reaction is to think I have a bad CV joint, but that is a not the problem.
I bought the van a year ago with 80k and here is a list of thing I have done to it.
Alternator
power steering pump
struts
valve cover gaskets
CV axels
radiator and hoses
plugs and wires
ball joints and tie rod ends
I did do a forum search before posting but did not see a similar problem.
Aloha

Welcome to DF
You could have a bad front axle bearing that could be causing the sound you are hearing. I would recommend to have a shop to check it out or replace both sides.

I will check both sides tomorrow. I was shying away from that being the issue because it seems to be RPM dependent. Although I did use a thicker oil and that seemed to make zero difference. One thing I have noticed is it will seem to do it when going around a corner to the right and not left.
