It maybe time to replace the battery. The avg life of a battery is 3.5 years.

Apparently I should have went with 10 amps. 12 hours later and it's still "yellow" or charging. Is it safe to turn it off and try to start the car? I have to be to work by 3.

Would a car even start with a 50-70% battery?

Prepare yourself for the possibility that the battery may just be worn out and not able to take a charge. But you can unplug the charger any time you want and try. I'd actually suggest that at this point, don't try to just start it on its own, but instead, get someone to jumpstart you now while the battery is partially charged.

I waited it out and it's green now. Started the car up without any issues. Left it running for about 3-5 mins and turned it off. The battery should stay fully charged now right? The radio is definitely turned off LOL (and keys in my hand)

Have work in 2 hrs, so trying to decide to take it to the auto parts store to check battery, or if it'd be okay if it still starts in 1-2 hrs. Was gonna try starting again at 1:30 then again when I leave at 2:15. I assume if it starts up those times, it should be okay?

Drove it to work without issue, hopefully it'll be alright tonight.

How old is your battery? There should be a sticker on it somehwere giving the date it was sold. Master tech above is right that there is a finite life for batteries but most of mine have been fine for 5 years before they started to get weak. Some have lasted a lot longer but they were premium batteries.

Yeah I checked that at first, 9/07. I figured it should be fine at least for a few more months, we've never had any issues with a dead battery til now, fwiw the car started okay tonight. I'm assuming the battery's okay now since it started fine after charging at noon, 3pm, and now 10pm. Guess I'll know for sure in the morning if nothing else.

Car was fine going in today, but when leaving it started up sluggish. Is it possible the battery isn't fully charged? or is the sluggish start likely something else on the vehicle? (which may or may not be related to 'the sound')

edit: Also what would a "cracking" sound near the front left tire be? CV joint? I think I need new breaks too since there's a lot of dust in there, ugh.

Yes, it's possible that it's not fully charged now, if it's been used a few times to start the car in the last day or two... which would lead me to believe your battery is failing. You can try charging it again with your charger, but you are probably better off biting the bullet and replacing it.
