Default 03 to 05 powertrain swap??

I am embarrassed to say I should know the answer to what I am about to ask. I have a 2003 Caravan 3.3 with 4 speed auto, just rebuilt.
Junior borrowed Ma's Van to go get his Prom Tux. He promptly got hit in the drivers rear door. Totaled.
I replace that car with a 2005 Grand Caravan with the 3.8 4 speed.
My question? If I drop the whole front drivetrain out of the 03 will it direct fit into the 05 body?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I don't see why not, They are both the same body style. But you could ask the dealer if the fenders are the same part numbers on the 2003 to the 2005.

Hey Mastertech, just wondering if there would be any problems or differences in wiring harnesses or computers or such (ie: the electrical) being that they are two different engines? Don't know, just wondering...

The controllers maybe the same part numbers, But they are not. Thats because the VIN numbers are been burn into the software and can not be removed.

I would save the wiring harnesses from both engines. I would think the 3.3 would have the same engine controls as the 3.8. I will check corresponding part#s. I would think I should stay with the 2005 PCM. My thought was to just swap complete powertrain s.

The 3.3 and 3.8 modules and controllers are not the same. Same with the wire harness. The 3.3 may have more wires or less wires than the 3.8. You need to look at them and make sure you won't have any problems.
