Default Automatic Door not "Locking" open

I have a 2009 Caravan SXT and the automatic door on passenger side will not "lock" open. Any idea what the problem may be. It goes back far enough, gaps are good when closed....any ideas or suggestions before I dump some money in a the dealership pockets?

There is a technical bulletin on that condition. I won't post it because I have a large problem with dealer bashers.

Tizzy...ain't so much dealer bashing as it is a FACT!!! if I could afford the luxury of taking it to the DS I would....so unless you're willing to offer a helpful solution...you ain't got a dog in the fight...so I would appreciate it if you would "post it" somewhere else, though it may be anatomically impossible.

Hey Slam, I can appreciate you may be frustrated, but I don't think that Tizzy is being disrespectful. Your last post on the other hand is kinda doing that... You may not like the dealership's prices, and I like most people are here to avoid spending money. But the tone of your first post came across a little harsh on the dealership. Some of the most knowledgeable people helping out on this particular website work for Dodge or are mechanics. You can dislike the higher price of a dealership, but maybe hold the emotional dislike to yourself and not write it into your post. I think you maybe were trying to be a little funny but it didn't quite come across that way. After all, without the dealerships, the dang vans would never be out on the roads in the first place. And they are staffed by people who also have to make a living.
