Default xpresskit Install

It took me less than 10 minutes to install and cost less than $100. There is also a video on youtube about this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BgspwmA4Vc
Did you need to purchase a hood switch for this to work?

Thumbs up Installed!

OK, I got some time today to mess with this as I got the dball, the T-harnness and the XL2 programmer. I flashed it a couple of times trying to figure out why the remote starter was not working. I was orginally using v3 of the software because I did not know how to launch v4 of the software. I then discovered that after I installed the VIP v4 software I had to go to their website to launch the utility. After that, I told the software what vehicle I had and told it I was going to install a Viper remote (I really was not but that is how to activate the RFTD feature I might in the future install the mile range remote so I got an XL202 on ebay for $8 bucks)...Then it prompted me to flash the dball. After doing this I reinstalled the unit in the van and presto! Remote start worked!

I did not get a chance to install the headlight feature as it works without this and I need to get a hood switch for safety anyways.

The only weird thing with this so far is when remote start is activated and I do a take-over, the dash will ding once, flash that I have low air pressure in my tires and then it will disappear. After about 4 minutes I will hear the dash ding once more but without any dummy lights lighting up. I am going to write the xpresskit.com to see if I did something wrong. Has anyone else experenced this with the kit?

Congrats on getting it to work. As far as I know you're the first that has posted to this thread that has actually gotten it to work, so I'm not sure how much help you will get with the dash warnings. When I get some free time I might try to follow your advice, but I think it will just be easier to take everything to an installer and have them do it for $20.

Default Remote Start

I am in talks with support at xpresskit.com They seem to be very responsive. I might just have a cable loose because it was hard to get the connector out and back in behind the WIN unit. I will check tonight. Other than that I like it.

Default Headlight Hookup to dball

The db-all needs to be programmed to your vehicle and most sellers will program it for you just tell them it needs to be flashed "RFTD". Then you only need to hook up 2 wires to the headlight switch. You can even add a 2 way RF kit or Smart Start and start it with your smartphone. http://www.xpresskit.com/DocumentDow...irmwareid=2573 after its wired up follow the instructions on page 18.
I looked at the connector for the headlight switch, how did you hook up yours did you splice into the wire or do something else?

Purchased a DBALL for my 2012 caravan flashed by the seller, and picked up the CHTHD1 cable to connect to the tip start ignition. It seems to be programming to my key fob but the vehicle will not start. Any ideas?

Nice, you bought from a dealer who knew how to properly flash it for you. I need to call around and see if anyone local can do it for me, the guy I bouht from did not know how to flash the units.

I bought an XKLoader2 for $30 from Amazon and reflashed my unit with the RSR firmware. Pluged it back in and WAHLAH! This would have been a 20minute job had the seller flashed the unit right. My wifey is very happy now to have remote start for less than $100. We previously spent over $300 at best buy for a viper system in the old cars.
