Default HID Kit

i have a 2011 crew. I added HID lights and had flickering problems. Shop installed anti flicker module, still same problem. Went back and told them to run the power directly from the battery and the problem is gone. They work great for over a year now.

edit: I just tried to register at the other forum you listed so I could post my serial number. Apparently I should have studied what Ohm's Law is, because the verification question you have to answer in order to register blocked me after too many wrong guesses. If you feel inclined could you ask about serial number 777E625D81? When I spoke on the phone to the iDataLink people they said I needed the DBI-AL-RS-CH4 firmware, and you were told to load the DBI-RS-CH4 firmware loaded--a slight discrepancy there. Thought this was going to be painless!
Hah I somehow got the ohm question right on my third attempt... I have an email contact that I can ask about your serial number this weekend too. I found a seller on eBay who does the xpresskit units and has the harness for our vehicle. He confirmed that I'll get the right stuff for remote start with the factory remote so I'll probably just send this one back and get thtat.

Default Stock keyFOB with remote start button

Any body know if you got a keyfob that had the additional remote start button if you could use it with the DB-All set up, I am thinking about saving the wear on the door actuators, as I have had one of these go before and they cost like $300 bucks, mind you that was a Mitsu, parts only! So not pressing a actuator button 3 times seems like a good idea to me. I do realize the keyfob would have to be programmed to start the vehicle, but that might not be too bad.

Ideas/thoughts?

Question Remote start working yet?

Sounds like a lot of bad luck going on here...

Has anyone got their module installed and working for the remote start?

I'd really like to surprise the wife, but not with "just another gadget the doesn't do what it's supposed to!"

Not yet. I've been communicating with a local guy that installs car electronics for a living. He's confident he can get it to work, we just haven't been able to coordinate a time to get it done.

I have to call around and find somebody who does the iDataLink stuff so they can put the firmware on it. I wouldn't buy from the guy me and Bob did on eBay, apparently he does not know how to load firmware on these.

I would agree to avoid the eBay seller we used. Although he was fine and agreed to reload the firmware onto the unit, it still isn't working and according to the directions, the red light flashing means that the firmware is incorrect or doesn't exist.

Smile DBALL and Install

After reading the posts, I decided to try it out on my 2011 GC I don't have factory remote start either so I have the 6 button remote. I decided to get the XKLOADER2 module just in case of needing to load other firmware on the dball.

It looks like I can add mile range by using the XL202 a remote from one of the big three (viper, Clifford or python) and an atenna.

Did you ever get it programmed? I should have sent mine back, but didn't get around to it. Now I probably HAVE to find somebody to program it.

No, I haven't gotten it squared away. It's gotten pushed back on the honey-do list, although I'm sure we will wish we had it when we're at the beach next week. Lots of stuff going on, and the guy that agreed to do it has fallen off the face of the earth. I have found a place that installs them, though, so I will have to make arrangements before too long.

Talk about sizzling out...
