01 Grand Caravan no power to Radio, A/C & keyless locks
My 2001 Grand Caravan ES runs great. 150k miles and going strong. I think I just messed things up a little. We had a factory VHS player that we swapped out for a DVD player about 5 years ago. It worked great until my 5 year old stepped on the center console and pushed the DVD player down inside. I thought, I can fix this! No Problem. I took out the center console, unplugged the electrical cables, etc and managed to secure the DVD player back in place where it was. When I was getting it all put back the way it was, something broke. Now I have no keyless entry to the van, no power to the radio or A/C unit. I'd say the whole center console, but the heated seat switches and the cigarette lighters still work. Also, when the lights are on the little LEDs light up behind the buttons, but the radio & A/C units do not turn on.
I have checked the fuse box in the engine compartment and none of the fuses look to be blown. I've looked underneath the steering column for an interior fuse box, but I must not be looking in the right place or there isn't one there.
Also, not sure if this is part of the problem or not. The after market DVD player only has A/V inputs in the front, so if you wanted to play a movie from your iPod/iPhone you had to plug into the front of the DVD player. The old VHS player had inputs in the back (inside the console) that linked to some external A/V inputs on the back of the console so they were accessible to the second row of seats. In setting the DVD player back up, I plugged these into the front of the DVD player and tried playing a movie from an iPod to test it. Not sure if this created the problem or not. Seems like maybe not since I can now get a video picture of the movie on the screen, but no sound since the radio doesn't work.
If any of you experts out there can give me some advice on how to fix this I'd appreciate it. We have a roadtrip coming up and my wife will kill me if the TV & A/C don't work.
