[4th Gen : 01-07]: 2001 Dodge Caravan Map Sensor ???
Hi...I recently took my van to an electro mechanic shop because the computer module was reading seven to eight errors. The person who tried to fix it did not do a good work because , right now , I still have more problems than before and even experiencing more engine getting turn off , even while driving. The mechanic said that the engine air intake is pretty dirty and the map sensor can't read the air intake properly. I don't know what to do because my financial situation is not the best right now and can't afford to keep spending money like crazy buying more spare parts.I will appreciate all your help in regards to this matter. Thanks !!!
Your seven to eight error codes are the key. What were they? What parts did the shop change if any? Which engine is in your van? What symptoms besides the engine shutting off?

Thanks for your quick response. That's(your advices) alleviate me a lot !!! God Bless !!!
My van has a 3.1 or 3.3 engine( I don't remember ) and the only part the mechanic replaced was the engine module , which read no more code errors. But , after that , he told me that the vaccuun part was preety dirty and needed to be clean. That took a whole days at the shop again and the van was running a little better but not as expected. It was like acellerating while driving. I called him back and told him that it was running that way and his answer was... the inside part of the engine is very dirty and the Map Sensor needs to be replaced. don't know what else to do...thanks !!!
before you go any further... you need to fix a problem you ARE having. when you said multiple codes I can tell you you have a deteriated fuel injector wiring harness. its a 10 wire harness that can be found under the drivers side of the ingine intake. the easy way to repair it is to loosen and move the power stearing resavour out of the way, the plug is behind the coil pack and has the red lock slide on it. unplug it and then you can lift the harness up and then un wrap the Velcro heat wrap and you will see the insulation on the 10 wires will be all deteriated. after you clean this up and re wrap the wires with electrical tape and reassemble your multiple code problem will be solved..then you can find the real problem
