Default 2005 caravan

My wife has a 2005 Caravan. Last winter when she was backing out of the garage, the van would not move, then she heard a bang and then it moved. It happened two more times during the winter. We just figured it to be something frozen. Now, it's August and yesterday my wife was tring to pull out of the garage and the van would not move, she said it was like the emergency brake was on. She checked the e-brake but it was not applied. So, she kept trying the gas, she started moving slowly and then heard the bang. When she got out she noticed "dragged" tire marks from the drivers side rear tire. So, it seems the tire/wheel/axel is locking up in the back. After the bang, it frees up and back to normal. Any suggestions
Thanks
Barry

Sounds like you need a little lube back there. Or check the bearings.

I say, take it to the dealer since it's still new. That's just me though.

You mean actually take it to a dealer and not Jippy Lube?

Take it to the dealer, there is a service bulletin on minivans equipped with drum brakes in the rear. The bulletin has to do with snow/water intrusion into the brakes causing them to freeze up overnight or rust in the case of water.

The van is still new which means that it's still under warranty. Right Brandon
