I have a 02 grand caravan with 3.8L and 4speed transmission. my thoughts are to see if it is possible to swap out the 3.8L and transmission out for the new 3.6L penstar engine with 6 speed automatic. as i know that I would more than likely need the new wired harnesses with both engine and transmission as i noticed that they put the 3.8L in the caravans up to the 2010 or 2011 models my question is the motor mounts the same or could i just take the whole front carriage with wheels and struts and all and just drop the old one and bolt up the new. I also am thinking about the swap along with mounting a turbo on it as well. do a complete conversion to a srt6. gathering information at this time once wife gets new car the project will begin.

 

I would not swap the 3.8 with the 3.6 engine. If you use a 3.8 from a 2010 or 2011, be careful. Not all the hard parts are the same.

 

ok.. if im to stay with the 3.8 shouldn't i just stick with the one i have in the 02 from what i have read that the 02 model is the year with the highest hp rating?

 

and am I am able to swap out the 4 speed trans with the 6 speed automatic and mount to the 3.8L ?
