I just replaced a 2 year old Airtex pump for the same reason. I guess you get what you pay for.

please send pics to nhsta. make it that they address this. hate to see a family that gets burnt from fuel catching fire. this can lead to a serious issue.

I just replaced a fuel pump for the reason. The fuel tank had a full tank of gas when I made the repair. Good thing I able to use my transmission wet bench to lower the fuel tank and not to loose any fuel. But I didn't take any pic's.

NHSTA might need to be involved.

Wasn't seeing anyone posting this problem for an '03 or earlier, which surprised me because it would seem likely to have this happen to older vans like mine first. So I took a look and saw that the fuel pump part numbers change in '04. Seems like they moved on to an improved fuel pump

Same problem with '06 Caravan just showed up. In the first place what kind of fool would put plastic there...it's also very close to the muffler. It does have a semi-rigid shield between the gas tank/pump and the muffler...but gas fumes don't bother with shields. I was astounded that the fuel line is plastic with a snap fastener! I'm registering with NHTSA too. This could be very dangerous.

Default 2005 grand caravan fuel pump leaks - cracks

I have a seeping leak that appears to be the exact same thing as pictured.
I took the fuel line off thinking that the leak was at o-ring seal at the fuel pump exit, replaced o-ring (that looked fine) but leak persists. Then I found this site showing what is really going on. MY FUEL LINE WAS VERY LOOSE AND EASY TO SPIN. THERE IS NO REASON THAT STRESS OR TORQUE SHOULD CAUSE THESE CRACKS. I HAVE OWNED THE VAN SINCE FEB2005 AND HAVE NO DAMAGE TO OR WORK DONE ON THIS PART. I'm trying the JBweld fix, tomorrow I'll see if it worked.

Cracks aren't limited to 4th gen vans. Changed the pump on my 96 a few months back for similar cracks. BTW - most fuel pumps these days are plastic.
