Brake Pad Question :: Remove This or Not
2002 Dodge Caravan SE
Is this important to remove to install new brake pads or should it be kept in place? I saw these clips there wheni removed the old brake pads. When i keep the clips on the caliper adapter the new pads have a rough time being pressed thru the opening -- very tight.

You must remove them and clean all the rust out from behind them. Those clips SHOULD be replaced, but if you are careful and clean them up as well, they could be reused if in good condition.
