a/c: how does blend doors work
Trying to help brother n law with his a/c. drivers side sending cold air, passenger sending warm air.
Once the sliders on a/c are adjusted for temperature; what occurs?
What actually happens to increase or decrease temps. Does the blend door open a bit allowing warm air to circulate from the heater core as it mixes with the cold from the compressor?
I have replaced compressors and dryers in past, a couple of them to help friends but didn't know how temp. is regulated.

what year is your van? dual zone? single zone? tri-zone? does it have rear air unit?
some are cable driven, some are eletronically control, some have a solenoid that shuts off Coolat flow to heater core, and even older cars are vacuum controlled. It depends on the cr.
also, I think he's probably just low on freons.

I have 06 caravan. dual control, although not automatic. i do have a rear a/c system. no problems but wanted to know how system works. my mind works better if i know how things work.
I wonder if my system temperature is controlled by having the blend doors open a bit to allow warm air from heater core to mix with the cool air from compressor.
