Default 98 Caravan and codes P0715 and P1698

Hi, I have a 98 Dodge Caravan SE with a 3.3 and automatic transmission. The Tranny has 45,000 miles on it and it was put in at 186,000 miles. I have gotten an intermittent Check Engine Light that occurs after driving for a couple of hours (mostly highway) and then stopping. Car goes into limp mode and 2nd gear. Two codes came up: P0715 and P1698. I am curious as to whether these 2 codes are related and what possible solutions exist. Ironically, after I restarted (and since) the car has been running fine. Thank you for your help.

Welcome to DF

P0715 is an input sensor code and the P1698 is no ccd bus comm to the TCM. I would replace the input sensor and make sure you have a good connection. I have also seen where the connector would have a broken wire inside the connector. If you do replace the sensor, look at the old sensor and see if you have a lot of debris on the end of the sensor.
