What to replace while doing PCV
Hi all,
I was going to replace the PCV valve, so I need to take the front cowl parts off. I was planning on doing the spark plugs and maybe the PCV hose.
What else should I replace while I have rear access? I'd liket o buy all my parts online at once.
TIA,
Seth

Not sure what year or motor you have but I found it much easier on my 2000 3.0 L caravan to leave the cowl on. The PCV valve is very accessible after removing air intake boxes. The plugs were a breeze to change from underneath, took me 20 minutes to change all 6, just need a u joint socket and it goes good. If you do need to remove the cowl and you have a lot of miles then definitely change the valve cover gaskets as Steak said.
Thanks. Yeah, I thought I would take the cowl off (2006 3.8 liter) because of the horror stories about getting the PCV out. I have the disappearing oil trick going on, so I thought I would first target the PCV.
I was curious if there were any other maintenance items, or cheap items that I might as well throw in when I have it apart.

um... do you have powertrain waranty? A lot of these Van during that yr have bad Piston Rings and requires an engine rebuilt to fix it.
How bad is it losing oil? I've seen a few van that would lose like 3 quarts every 3000 miles.
If you don't have waranty, try run a few Lucas Oil Treatment with ur oil change with 5w-30 oil.
