Default 2012 R/T auto headlights upgrade?

Just got a 2012 Caravan R/T and didnt noticed that the auto headlights was in the safety sphere group wich i didnt took. I really thought this was a base option in a car of that price.

Now my question is: since everything seem already in place except the switch position for the auto headlights. Can I just replace the switch with a new one with the auto headlights position to get it work?

Thanks,

I am pretty sure that I read something about this on here and it can be done but it is not just a matter of replacing the switch. I think there is a sensor or something that needs to be installed as well.

Everything can be installed, it's all a matter of cost. And correct, the sensors would need to be installed. And they are not cheap.

basically the van is built with wiring for only what it is equipped with. That is the most expensive part about adding anything to your van is either trying to find the connectors and making a harness or getting the harness that you need. There are 5 different rear view mirrors offered for the minivan for that year

Default upgrade

hi guys --here in canada
teh sensor for the upgrade is about $28
and the switch is around $60
labor at the dealer is around $100 to $125
all in..about $250
and you then have auto running lights in the caravan 2012

Tell me more about the "sensor" because what i have found is that you have to replace the mirror for the one with the auto headlight sensor (just like Tizzy1 stated) which is pretty more expensive then 28$

I agree!

My 1999 Venture van was the very base model, and it had auto headlights! This is something I really miss on my 2011 DGC.

Why is Chrysler so slow to make this standard - or at least standard on upscale models like the R/T?
