rough idle & running intermittently 2005 Grand Caravan
Took off from a traffic light today and all of a sudden the van started to spit and sputter and run rough. The tach was all over the place and I thought the van was going to stall. Ran like that till I got to my next location and when I came out and started the van back up it ran just fine. Checked trouble codes when I got home. P0850,2074,0440,1696,1697,0208,0340,and 0037. Tried to erase them and all it took out were 2 of them. Also one code says it is a injector circuit open on #8 cylinder. Strange code when you only have a V6. Looks like PO disconected check engine.
I bought a tank of water 400 miles from home !! Buy about 5-10 bottles of gas dryer an add to tank an maybe the mix will pass thru the engine .I had to replace my fuel filter also as the fuel pump relay kept tripping . Good luck . lovvorn
um, check the wiring harness behind the rear valve cover, also check for any obvious wiring problem at the engine harness.
But all those above codes seem to point at a bad PCM. Try a Battery disconnect for 5 minute.
+1 steak59. Also check your battery, all the battery cables and connections, and ground points. I didn't think a PCM would even know what a P0208 code is if its only a V6. I definitely learned something new!
I will try the battery disconect this morrning. Iwas leaning twords the bad PCM seeing the codes will not erase and I also have an issue with my cruise turning it self off like you just pushed the on off button. Also will check grounds.
Thanks.
OK tried battery disconnect and checked what grounds I could find. All seam OK. Also pulled all connections and relays on fuse block and PCM. Still had codes in and cruise still turns it sell off. Will see how it runs today. Looks like I may need new PCM.
