Default 2000 Grand Caravan: When turning Popping noise in front end, springs binding

I have a 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan, and as I turn the wheel left or right, I can hear a popping noise in the front end. I had someone else turn the wheel while I looked around, and I could see the front coil springs appeared to be binding as the wheel was turned.

Any ideas?

Upper strut mounts. Time for new ones.

Also check the body on the inboard side, the spring could be hitting the body. If that is good. Replace the strut, spring, both upper and lower mounting pads. And the upper strut bearing too.

Ugh, my 05 is doing this too and it is definitely the mounts binding. I was hoping to get away with greasing the upper strut mounts as the springs themselves haven't even started to rust yet and the struts are still nicely sealed up and working properly. Any chance of just greasing the upper mount and making the noise go away? If that might work, what is the best technique and where should it be greased?

Grease can't fix this. Even if you got a perfect application, it would wash out after a few weeks IF it helped. Binding = damage which means they need replacing.
