I have a 1997 dodge caravan 4 cyl. the air conditioner stopped pumping out cold air. My mechanic is telling me it is the vpac that is bad. And that it would cost over 700.00 to fix it.
WHat is a vpac ? i never heard of it.

 

Hmm. I've heard that term used in commercial A/C systems but not on cars but then I don't work on A/C systems. I know it as vertical packaged A/C. Based on the price he may be talking about the compressor or the condenser plus labor fees. I would think the evaporator would be closer to $1000+ as it is up under the dash and requires removing the dash to change it. Are you in the USA?
