Default 2001 2.4l Has no spark and other issues.

My moms van died on her and won't start. It isnt getting spark. The dash lights all are acting wierd. sometimes they come on sometimes there are more on than usual and sometimes there are none. The fuel gauge goes up and down and so does temp gauge. The mileage displays sometimes and will fade out so that it cant see it. Seems like a short or ecm is acting up. Please any help. Thank You.

The no start problem could be a broken timing belt, but the other problems could be a low battery.

The battery has a good charge, I checked that. The timing belt is good, I checked that out. There is code P0740 in the computer that wasnt there before. Has something to do with torque converter. Not sure if that would have anything to do with not having spark. earlier the cluster lights were blinking off and on continously. Looked at side of ecm and looks as if it has been replaced before.
Any other thing I should check before replacing ecm.

The P0740 is a torque converter code, but wouldn't cause a no start problem. Have you done a compression test? And have you check to see if you have fuel pressure too? You could a bad ASD relay or crank or cam sensors.

The compression is good. Engine was rebuilt not that long ago. Do you know what the method is for checking the crank and cam sensors with a multimeter is. For example which wires to probe and what kind of voltage or resistance to look for. In the meantime I'll check the ASD relay.
Thank You.

Tried swapping relays around no change. Tomorrow I'll check fuel pressure at the rail.
