Yet another power sliding door thread
2005 GC SXT.
I've had the common problems with sliding doors - broken power wire and sticking clutch. This one is different.
The door works intermittently with the fob and/or the buttons. It makes a sound like it's trying to open but doesn't and the door doesn't move. If I pull it open slightly and push the button it will open all the way. It will also close from an open position but when it gets to almost closed sometimes it will stop, sometimes it will try to close but fail and then it gets into a repeating loop where the motor will try to pull the back of the door flush closed and it will pop back again. This loop will repeat until someone opens the door manually.
It seems like there is something in the track but upon inspection I found nothing obvious.
Help, Mrs69 is wearing me out over this.

Thanks for the suggestions.
I had a chance to take a look at it over the weekend.
What happens is, when I push the button I can hear the relay but the door doesn't unlatch nor does it move. IF I open the door slightly when I push the button it opens. When I push the button again it closes to the point where the cam in the latch would take over but it just stops. When I manually operate the latch cam with the door open using a screwdriver, the motor kicks in and it closes the latch. It is not possible for me to prevent it from doing so. But with the door in the position where that motor should kick in and pull the door closed, it either doesn't do anything or it goes halfway and stops or does the repeating loop thing.
When I get a chance I'm going to check the power wire in the door harness. I think it might be broken and making intermitent contact.,

update, I fixed the problem.
The power wire was broken, only instead of the characteristic opening part way and stopping, the break was such that the wire would break contact right as the door was about to close, so it would stop and would not open.
The usual 10 minutes with a soldering gun, etc etc
