Hi,
My check engine light got on and i connected my autoscanner and i found the P0404 code.
My dodge has 49700 miles.

I checked on the internet and it is about the EGR Valve.
SHould i clean it or remplace it?
Or should i do something else?

Grand Caravan 2008 SE 3,3 engine

 

I had that same code on my 06 in may, I would clear it, and it would come right back

I bought a new egr from advance auto installed it and the code has not been back

OVERVIEW:

This bulletin involves flash reprogramming the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) with new
software.

MODELS:

**2008** - 2009 (RT) Town & Country/Grand Voyager

There is a PCM software update for this concern, the first thing you need to do is make sure you computer is at it's latest software. If Code comes back even after you update the PCM software, then replace the EGR valve.
PCM software update needs to be done at dealer or Shops with specialty equipment. I would say they might probably charge you like $50 or half hour labor, if you are out of waranty.
