Default P1684/p0700/p0605

4 days ago I went to Auto Zone to get my check engine light checked because my car wouldn't shift out of first. They pulled the codes P1684/P0700/P0605.

Up until yesterday my car wouldn't shift out of first until it was warmed up and restarted. But then it would start and shift perfectly, with no issue, for the rest of the day, unless it rained.

Today, it won't shift at all. Stays in first (might be second, IDK) and won't shift. It hasn't rained or anything. I have tried restarting the car and it just won't work.

One mechanic told me it was my TCM but we don't have any transmission shops in town, does this sound correct?

P0700 is telling you the TCM has detected a fault in the transmission control system. The P0605 is telling you there is an internal memory fault in the TCM. A reprogramming may be worth a try. Could try swapping the EATX relay with another like relay on the fuse panel. Disconnect the negative battery cable then check connections on the TCM for corrosion. Other than that you will likely be changing the TCM.
