Default 2007 Caravan -- Many issues, common cause?

I'm suddenly having a lot of issues with my wife's 2007 Caravan.

She had the tires rotated a couple of weeks ago, and immediately after the ABS and "Trac Off" dash lights came on. She took the vehicle to the dealership, who proceeded to replace a wheel speed sensor, repair the sensor wire, and replaced wheel bearings. After this, the ABS and Trac Off lights no longer stayed lit.

Last week, her radio stopped functioning--it acts like there is no power. The courtesy/reading lights up around the temp/compass unit no longer light.

Today, the wife reports that her steering column is clicking when turning. And just a few minutes ago, I noticed the red glow of brake lights in my driveway. The Caravan's brake lights were on (I got home after her and am fairly confident that they weren't on when I came in the house). A quick tap of the brake pedal shut them back off.

Any idea what I should be looking at to fix these issues? Does this seem like a BCM issue? Should I just trade this vehicle in?

I'd appreciate any ideas anyone might have....

The electrical distribution block that lies on top of driver side suspension tower is a common cause of oddities: corrosion! (my son's Caravan) However, some of your items seem specific to a component, like a failed/gripping brake pedal switch.
CLicking steering column....depends of what clicking you mean...some have "noises" coming from sterring wheel sliding contacts. Noises may also come from bellows sliding by small steps on tie rods (like on my Pontiac TS..not sure the Caravan has this).

Took the van for a drive this morning (or started to, rather). The clicking noise is definitely in the steering column, and is preceded by a spring noise. It also seems that the power steering is completely out. I have no idea how power steering systems work, but it seems like these might be completely unrelated issues. Power steering fluid is full, and the pump seems to be functioning, as I can see power steering fluid moving about in the reservoir.

Two other issues that are occurring that I forgot about--occasionally the engine won't shut off after the key is turned off/removed. The wife has to shut it off via the aftermarket remote start. The other issue is that on rare occasion, the headlights won't come on, and the vehicle needs to be shut off/restarted for them to function.

I'll be taking a look at the electrical distribution block. All fuses are good, but maybe there is some corrosion on the contacts or internally...

I never did take a look at the electrical distribution block. The aftermarket remote started (purchased and installed at ABC Warehouse) was improperly installed in the steering column, had gotten caught on a bolt, and ended up damaging a nice bunch of wires. Everything is repaired, but....

  1. The courtesy/reading lights up around the temp/compass unit were both burned out (and probably went at the same time), but there was some melting, etc that suggested a shorthe radio seems fried
  2. The wiring harness to the radio is getting power now, but the radio is still dead. I'm guessing the short that took out the light bulbs killed the radio too
Power steering was completely out this morning, but as the day warmed up, the power steering seemed to come back. I'm assuming based on this that I need to either clean the screen filter in the power steering fluid reservoir, or replace it altogether...
