confuzzling transmission

Unhappy confuzzling transmission

ok where do i start ok there is no slipping from my transmission but and its a big but my 89 4speed auto transmission is having trouble when slowing down from motorway speed it tends to ****** (like ive jabbed the brake pedal) also it has a tendency to go into limp mode (stay in 2nd gear) but if i quickly flick the ignition off then on it works fine what can cause this its the electronicly controlled transmission and my caravan is a 89 3litre v6 12 valve engine im not sure where to start help please

You need to scan the transmission control module for codes. And then post. The body connector is under the dash for the TCM. I would need to know the codes, CVI (clutch volume index) and have a clutch test done.

do you by chance know where under the dash please and thank you for your help finding things out over here in the uk is very difficult even the dodge dealers are unhelpfull my friend has a snap on diagnostic code reader and resetter etc what cable will i need to connect it sorry to be a pain and thanks in advance a fluid change is on the cards but it is still nice and red but yeah gonna change it its also sluggish to drop into reverse and the reverse lights work when they feel like it lol

The body connector is blue and it sure be on the left side of the steering column.
