Default 02 GC Tranny Pan Leaking @ Front Edge?

02 Grand Caravan 3.3L.

Looks like my transmission pan is leaking but its at the higher front edge? Is this common?

I cleaned the surrounding areas to make sure it is not something else. Seems like it would leak at the lower rear edge first.

Just checking for your experiences.

The fluid level is above the whole pan so it can leak anywhere around the pan.

Edit - Original reply asked about the replacement fluid quantity...

Never mind the fluid replacement needed, I have setup an appointment with the dealership to do it.

Some of you may remember me using the "Stealership" word and getting feedback about it. The feedback was not only justified but the dealership here has proven to be quite the opposite.

Thanks, I used gunk to clean the area above the pans top front edge and it seems to be coming from the pan but wonders never cease.

I guess I'll tell the dealership to look at it too. Can I get a pick of this area?
I hope he will determine which correctly.

Thanks.

Here is a pick of what I think the solenoid pack is. Would you says if not the pan its the rectangular plate gasket?

Default Fixed - Maybe - For A while Anyway

Well its the solenoid pack. I did a super clean, let it dry and ran it only a minute before seeing it start to weep on the bottom of the solenoid pack's front plate.

The pic below is from under the van and the area where you see moisture was very clean and dry and began weeping as you can see in less than a minute.

The plate is fastened by torx screws and I gave the bottom ones a little bit of a turn. They were not lose but did turn just a little for me.

I then cleaned the area again and ran it for a 30 minute driving lesson with my teen daughter and re-checked it and it was dry!

I can hear an Arnold Schwarzenegger like voice in my head saying "I'll be back".

The trans pan gasket area is dry. I topped off the fluid level and am happy until I see the red spot on the floor again.

usually it is not a gasket issue so I won't be suprised if it comes back. Usually leaks from a seam in the pack itself.

Thanks, I believe its been leaking there since I got the Van with 66k or so miles on it. The trans pan has always been wet but never a drop on the floor till now and never low on the stick until now and only half way down the range.
The two screws in the pic are the ones that took a little bit of a turn.
Like you said, I'll not be surprised if it returns.
