Default Fixed from being attempted stolen and not starting.

My 2006 Dodge Caravan was attempted stolen. They broke off the ignition part where the key goes into and the SKIM module. My mechanic has fixed the ignition and gotten a new SKIM with the chip from the old SKIM and put it in so theoretically it all should work. But it wont start. Any advice???

Does the security light flash? if it does, you need to program the BRAND NEW Skim, as well as your old keys.

So he took a chip out of the old Skim and put it in a new skim? Something don't sound right.
In theory you buy a new Skim and the dealership will flash your VIN into it. Now if he broke into your old one and then opened your new one and soldered a chip into it..... this I gotta see.
I think he just ruined your $75.00 to $130.00 Skim module.

I hope I'm wrong for your sake but that skim stuff is best done at the dealership.

I recently had the same thing happen. I told the service manager my sob story and complained about the cost of it all and having to be towed up there and they treated me decent cutting prices for me. I was towed up there and installed the skim myself. They came out and flashed it and programmed my keys.

I have since installed a loud a$$ Viper 5704.

Good Luck.
