Default 1998 Grand Caravan will crank but wont start

Hello everyone. I have a 98 GC with a 3.3 non-flex fuel. About 215k miles.

It over heated in the drive thru, not to where it boiled over. The reason is because the radiator fans are on a toggle inside. I don't know why, if you want to know why please ask the previous owner. Anyway, the wife turned off the fan for some reason and it overheated. Turned the fan back on and it cooled right down. About 5 minutes later we were on the way home and it died. Now it will crank, nut won't start.

What I've done:
Searched Google
I can hear the fuel pump hum when I turn the key to on and there is pressure at the fuel rail
There is power to the coil but no spark. I replaced the coil and no change.
Replaced plug wires because the first time I pulled the plug wire for the spark test the wire came apart.

It is my understanding that if the crank sensor is bad there will be no power to the coil when cranking the engine. Not sure if that is correct.

No codes are being thrown from the computer.

Any suggestions?

Correct. Without the crank or cam sensor signal the engine gets no timing data. Without it the PCM cuts the ground to the ASD relay. That cuts power to the coil, injectors and O2 sensors.

A bad crank sensor can mask a bad cam sensor and visa versa on 3rd generation vans. Best to change both.

OK. So since I have power to the coil that means it's not the came or crank sensor. What else can I look for?

Ergh! I just have to read. When you checked for power at the pack (1)were you getting reference power and (2) driver pulse at all three coils?

Ah. No. I only checked the gr/or wire. Are driver pulses on the other 3 wires on that harness?

Yes, at the coil plug. Using a test light while cranking, the light should blink.

Red/Yellow tracer Pin#1..........Coil #1
Gray/red tracer Pin #2............Coil #2
Dark Blue/Tan tracer Pin #4.....Coil #3

Hmm. Well now I'm scratchin my head. The PCM is doing it's job. It's supplying power to the coil (via it's ground to the ASD relay)and the coil drivers in the PCM are cycling the ground on and off as they should. Can't think of anything else that would prevent you from getting spark beyond the plug wires and coil pack you have already changed. Can't imagine you've got 6 bad spark plugs. Could the coil power wire (green/orange) have an intermittent open? How are you checking for spark?

Sounds like you have spark, but not fuel. The CAM sensor controls the injectors. Get a new one from the dealer! The OEM parts are junk for our vans. I know I tried 5 or 6 of both crank and cam sensors before I returned them all and got dealer parts. They worked the first time.
