Default Bent sway bar? '99 caravan

I have a broken sway bar link that I went in to replace but the new sway bar link looks like its 2 inches too long. I tried lowering the jack so the car was flat but the sway bar didn't move. I double checked and the new sway bar link is the same length as the old one. Is my sway bar bent or do i just have to force it down 2-3 inches and put in the link?

You have to "force" it. The sway bar and links are under tension. Of course it is possible it is bent but I'd guess it isn't.

Any suggestions on how to force it down? i was thinking of a strap and ratchet it down to the lower a-arm or something but I'm guessing they would move.

Haven't had to do one on a Caravan. I usually use a large crowbar or jack handle wedged in somewhere.
