Default Changing a Tail Light

I have to put a new tail light assembly in my Caravan. I can get the old one off (it's broken - duh!), but I don't know what to do about the wiring connection. It sort of looks like an electrical cord plug to me, but I don't want to make that assumption and yank on it and break it.

Does anyone know how to properly do this? Or if you know the replacement part comes with specific instructions, that should work, too. I have the part on order, so I should have it within a few days. Any info would be appreciated.

Don't just pull it apart. There is a small plastic clip on the plug that holds the plug into the socket of the tail light assemby. You need a small screwdriver to gently pry the clip away from the housing and then pull the plug out.

Yep. Just be careful, 12-13 year old plastic tends to get brittle.

Smile Thanks for the Help

I will definitely use the advice of both posts. Yes, my car is a 2000 Caravan so I'm sure it's had plenty of time for the plastic to get pretty brittle.

Thanks again!
