We just bought this car and was interested in putting a DVD player in for the kids to watch. We have been checking on prices but my wife noticed today that the radio had a DVD logo next to it. Out of curiosity, we put in a DVD movie and after a few seconds, it started playing the movie. However, whenever you put the car in gear, it turns the video off, but still plays the audio.

I'm assuming that there is probably a video out on the back of this radio that I can run to a TV screen that I put in the back and it will play the video. Does anyone know if this is correct or has anyone done this before?

 

all the video feeds come from the C3 connector on the rear of the radio, 22 pin connector

 

So does that mean that I will need to have a proprietary cable and/or screen to make this work?

 

ya, I don't know how you would go about connecting an aftermarket screen to it. I suppose you could get the C3 connector for the radio and then run the wire and connect rca jacks to the other end but weather it would work or not, couldn't say.

 

+ front screen goes black cause law caint drive while watching screen but that can be fixed with lockpick also lockpick give you the option to put rear screen if i recall too.
