Question Side Door Won't Lock

Vehicle: 2002 Dodge Caravan SE (3.3L V6)

The driverside rear sliding door power lock does not rise or fall when i attempt to lock / unlock it with the master switch on the front doors. All other locks rise and fall accordingly but this power lock almost always remains in its current "manually" locked/unlocked state.

Sometimes it does rise or fall but for the most part it does not respond.

Can you point me to the offending part for replacement?

Thanks

Most likely the motor in the actuator is bad. You can replace the actuator or if handy you can get the motor and replace it from ebay or other source but not from MOPAR.

This looks like the motor that I got and replaced mine with.

Hi - did that Ebay motor work out for you? I have the same problem but there are conflicting accounts of whether that motor works or not. Thanks!

I decided to disassemble my faulty actuator so as to be sure of the motor inside (there appear to be different types). It was the "FC-280PT-20150", which is about $5 shipped through Ebay. I did notice that you can get aftermarket actuator assemblies (i.e. the whole black assembly with the motor included) for ~$40, but I read varying reviews on them, so I stuck with the factory unit and am just swapping the motor for now.

An excellent description of the procedure can be found here.
