Default Windshield noise?

We've had this 05' Caravan for 3 yrs. and I would rather had a Grand C. but this is fine. My question is at highway speeds when it is raining there is a fluttering sound coming from the r front of the windshield. Sounds like a hollow type sound. I've looked under the hood on rf side but no way that I can tell anything. It does sound like the vinyl in front of the windshield has something to do with it. I'm 61 and in my best days I couldn't run beside the Van and listen, just had to say that! So.......

Put a piece of masking painter's tape over the suspected area, does it eliminate the noise? if it does, you found the problem.

When you find the problem area is a wind leak on the windshield, you can buy some CLEAR color windshield sealant from the part store and reseal it.

So you've had this before? I haven't put any around the glass but have to soften the blow that might be turbulence on the plastic under hood.

No, I dn't have it before, But the Masking tape method is used to determine any type of windnoise. It doesn't matter if it is the hood, the mirror, or the windshield.

Yeah I understand. I 'd checked in every place except the right place I guess. You'd think someone else would have had this problem. I'v Google'd it but not here. I'd expect hearing air if it were the windshield. But I'll check it, too cold today for Duct tape to stick!!

You said this is happening when it is raining. It could be beneath the fender when water is thrown off the tire. I would check there.

I don't think it's road water, but I don't know. The sound is a random soft sound. I've not had any water in the interior unless it has stayed under the Carpet.? Next time I'll remove the forward piece of dash to listen better. It's broken and need to replace , is this a PDR? I'e had no accident.
