At idle turn you headlights or AC on the Alternator makes a noise. Turn either off it quits. You don't hear it other than idle. The normal engine and driving noises masks the sound. It is charging fine. I've bought bearings for it without knowing or the special pulley. Don't know if I could replace them without the special tool..What about that noise??

 

NO special tools needed, but it may make things a bit easier. The tools is a bearing puller and they aren't extremely expensive tools either, $15-20 for descent ones.

 

Mine has the clutch type pulley. This type I've done, Thanks though.Hopefully you have an idea about making a rig to take the clutch apart?
