transmission finished high wineing when step on gas
this is the second transmission i put in, got them from a junk yard, and my mechanic put them in. the junk yard gave me the last one.
the first one last 200 miles
this one lasted 2000, the mechanic put a new front axle in the second time
they both sounded the same before they failed, a high pitched wineing sound, when i let up on the gas, it was less of a sound.
anyway it's shot.
use the van about 2000 miles a year,
and it's in pretty good shape 110,000. I got it at 3 years ago at 100,000,
3.0 Liter v.6,
4 speed transmission
number on case 4800 859
there were 3 transmissions in1999
anybody got any ideas?
thanks

any why the high screeching sound before they fail?
both tranny were acting fine, and both started this high screech and then failed.

the high whine before the failure, i am told, is when the filter gets clogged from the metal slivers inside that break off and clog the filter and the inside gears can't get any fluid. does anyone know if that's correct
