Default Aiming Headlights on a 1996 HippieVan

good morning all!

wonderful skiKation trip so far....im at my uncles house in las cruces....he a "car guy".....69 Etype Jag (award winner everywhere), 76 convertible beetle (pumping 115hp at the flywheel), and ABOVE that (yes on a lift) is a AMX Javelin.....perfect, fully restored american heavy metal....going for a drive later!! oh.....dirt bikes, quads....the list goes on....all on epoxy floors of course and you can guess how his garage is setup....like a dream garage, out of Speed Channel.

the hippievan is doing well so far on the trip. FULLY loaded, yakima skybox PACKED, interior PACKED with two adults, two tween girls and two dogs and gear falling out the rear vent window. the Airlift rear suspension air bags and KYB gas-adjust shocks are are killin it. the new yokohama AVIDs are keeping us going straight and smooth and quiet. the new USB and power sockets in the armrest pockets are "saving our trip", ha!! the new headlights are bright and clean, but need proper aiming. i knew this when i installed them before i left on 2134mile skiKation, but ran out of time.....is there a spec for aiming them? thoughts master tech/tizzy1?

well...aiming the aftermarket headlights was not a straight forward as OEM....mostly because the Y axis adj is not accessable by wrench or socket!!! the stud coming out of the back of the unit is that, just a stud! no place to put a tool on it to adj (unlike the X axis adj). anyway i ended up taking the whole damn drivers right (passenger) unit out and doing it by guess work....take it out, put the vise grips on the stud, adj and reinstall....annoying yes, but managed to get it adj properly in one attempt, good guess work! installed a new bulb (brought a spare set on the skiKation trip) so all worked out well!

did a on-the-fly brakejob the next day as well...in the early morning ruidoso darkness, 13degrees, 45mins, easy/greezy...see the other post for writeup on that.
