Default Defeat climate control

I have an '05 Town and Country Limited 3.8. I am here because I had two Caravans prior to this TC.
My Caravans both had the sliding temperature adjuster for the heater and A/C. This TC Limited has the super-duper automatic climate control and I haaaate it. Does anyone know if there is a way to defeat it? I thought perhaps I could go find a used regular control, but I don't think I should because the button configuration is different from the regular (rear defrost, rear wipers).
I cannot stand the automatic climate feature. If I want cool air and set it at the lowest (59 degrees F), it starts to blow out warm air when the cab temp reaches 59. And vice-versa when I want warm air, I get cool air. Jeeez, I hate that.
Also, can you defeat the passenger temp? I am in this van alone and am setting 2 zones constantly. It would be nice to defeat that too.
Anyone know if there is a fix for my two huge pet-peeves?
Thx, Todd

try disconnect the In-Car Temp Sensor.

Item #3, you have to pull the center bezel off to reach it. Center Bezel are only held on by spring clips, you can pop it off by prying around the edge with a credit card or something.

Steak59, Thanks for the reply. I did try that. I tried driving with it disconnected. It still put out warm air at 59 degrees, when I wanted cool air. So I plugged it back in. Then I tried putting chewing gum over the sensor, hoping to block it so it would not know the ambient temp. It seemed to work, putting out cool air for an extra minute or two, but then it got warm soon after.
The system is working correctly. I just hate it. I was hoping that it was one of the options in the ceiling computer, where you can set things like lights on when wipers are on, time of automatic headlights going off after you stop the engine, etc.
