can the starter if bad cause the asd relay to click rapidly during the act of cranking the engine over i have a 98 caravan that when i try to crank the engine over it trys to turn over but the asd relay will start to just click causing a power no power situation to the starter and the fuel pump any help would be appreciated

 

It could, BUt so can low battery voltage too. We also starting to see the camshaft sensor is causing the same problem too.

 

ok after long hours yesturday searching wires down from 9 am till about 10 pm making sure i didnt have a broken shorted out wire i did end up replacing the cam sensor and recharging the battery the van is running now hope i can keep it that way i have been having this problem of the vehicle shutting off at any given moment and having to cool off before i could thing to restart it due to the asd relay rapidly clicking and when that would click the fuel pump would as well thank you for the info i hope i have finally nailed this down.
