Coolant leak in 2005 Grand Caravan
Symptoms:
-99k miles
-Engine does NOT overheat, needle never rises past middle
-Coolant level in radiator is fine
-Keep filling the coolant reservoir, it empties out in less than a week
-Coolant on the driveway, at first under the reservoir, now it's under the radiator, looks more like a splash than before when it was a slow leak.
Was told it could be leaking between the intake manifold and cyl. head. If that's the case wouldn't it ALL leak out eventually and dry up the the radiator?
This has been going on awhile now.
If it were between the intake manifold and cyl. head would a Bar's leak sealant work? If not, what is a fair price to fix?
Thanks

Sign out a coolant system pressure tester from any parts store. Pump it up to 15 psi and watch for a decrease on the gauge. If it does trace the leak down.
Leak sealers are a last resort. They can potentially do more damage. Fair price for a manifold seal change around $300.
