Default Shifting issue

I have 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.8. Recently, the van sometimes shifts with skip/jerk or something like that. Is it because i pressed on gas to accelerate too quickly or is there an issue ?

This is in the city as i do mostly city driving. It happens sometimes but not always.

There is no engine check light on.

Thanks!

Is it only when you accelerate? If you accelerate hard enough the van will normally downshift to a lower gear so you can accelerate quickly. Could you be feeling that downshift?
