Which Cooler have
Good morning,
I'm a recent new owner of a 2008 Grand Caravan SE.
I'm trying to see which transmission cooler i have.. I search pic on the net, and it doesnt look what i have..
its in front of the engine cooler (radiator).. and its the same size of it (about 2.5 foot x 2 foot). On one side, line from the transmission is coming in, and on the other side, lines from the AC.
Is it the regular, the heavy duty, or has it been replaced? Nobody seem to be able to tell me
Thanks
Frank

As far as I know, there is no auxiliary transmission cooler available. The transmission cooler is part of the condenser. If you look at it, the upper tubes are thicker than the lower ones. The thicker lines are the trans cooler part and the thinner lines are the condenser portion.
I believe if you had the towing package, you would get the same cooler but if you want to add a second, that is up to you. The lines to the cooler are metal with quick connect fittings. They have to be cut and flared, not an easy job to say the least.
I read a while back that due to clearances around where the transmission lines go into the factory cooler, the 2008-2013 Caravan/T&C require you to remove the bumper cover in order to install an auxiliary transmission cooler.
If you do buy an aftermarket auxiliary transmission cooler and decide to install it yourself, be sure to see the instructions before you buy it (or before you unwrap it to the point that you can't return it for a refund). Some contain instructions and hardware to tap into the rubber portion of the transmission line, others tell you to cut into the metal line, which is what Tizzy1 was saying.
