Default Caravan 2003: Motor Stall: Code P0035, P0442 P0455 P1684

Hello

First time on this forum

My Caravan 2003 3.3L motor stall when I press on the gas pedal. I did check the error diagnostic code
P0035
P0442
P0455
P1684.

Did any of these one could sound as a probavle problem for a stalling motor?

> 3 sources tell me the P0035 is a turbo system related code which you don't have. Either you are reading it wrong or your PCM is spitting out erroneous codes.
> P0442 and 455 are EVAP codes and shouldn't effect stalling.
> P1684 says the battery was disconnected or can be interpreted as the PCM lost power. It's an informational code that carries little weight unless the engine has died completely. This code will not illuminate the CE light on it's own.

That leaves you with no pertinent codes. I would look towards fuel pump pressure or maybe the throttle position sensor.

By any chance does this happen soon after filling the gas tank?

Hello Cougar41

Thanks for the reply. Yes you are right, I had miss read code. It was P0135 instead of P0035

I think I gave resolved the problem by cleaning the air intake entry and throttle. I had read on the forum that the place should be clean of any black smoke residue. After the cleaning, motor stopped stalling after I pressed on the gas pedal. Since I did not had time to fully test it yesterday, time will tell If I resolve the problem for good.

Martin.

Please, excuse my bad English. I'm more fluent in French

Hey, your English is great. My French...uh...not so much.

P0135 is saying the heater circuit on the upstream O2 sensor is dead. Outside chance it could make it stall when cold but really not a player for you. Should fix it soon. Glad to hear you fixed the stalling issue.
