Default Battery Light 02 Caravan

Battery light is still on after replacing the alternater which was wore out after 11 years. Battery checks good but has a low charge. Checked fuses and relays. Pulled Alt and had a recheck done at Autozone which it passed. Checked all connections three times or more. Mmm, and there is serious static on the radio but not when you play a CD which started after the alt replacement. Any ideas? I think it is the alt but.....

I would have to say its a bad ground or a bad alternator. Alternators are mostly rebuilt, not brand new these days. You could of got a bad one. Double check the ground connections on the alternator, and depending on the warranty you got, try and get another one put in.

Good luck!

Took it back and got a new one instead of rebuilt. Talked to a few guys at work and they told me the same thing. They do not do a total rebuild. Works great now, thanks.

What about belt tension or resetting by disconnecting battery?
