My power rear door works perfectly with both the fob and the overhead controls. It doesn't work at all when using the button at the back of the door it self. Any ideas on what this could be? Everything else seems to work as it should.

My 2005 has a lock out button on the overhead console making the buttons for the rear inoperative but the overhead console and fobs still open the doors. Perhaps your 2012 is similar and the lock out switch accidentally got flipped.
