Need some advice I brought my van to a mechinic shop and they are telling me i need a valve job my van has 121,000 miles on it it runs smooth does not over heat I am not losing any anti freeze but i am getting white smoke from my exhust when i am at idle and i am buring oil a quart about every 800 miles it is a 6 cyclne and it os a 3.0 engine any help wou;d be great thanks

Is the white smoke all the time or just in th morning when warming up? And are you seeing any blue smoke when you going into passing gear on the freeway?

 

I can be doing 70 on the higheway I see no white smoke or blue smoke, but lets say i am in line and i am there for a while i start to get heavy white smoke while I am waiting to move up also if i put the car in netural and wait i get heavy white smoke
